Store Administration Chapter 2

Welcome to chapter 2! This chapter will take you through a few more steps to further customize and setup your administration section. Don't be afraid to experiment and try out things with your shop to see more of their detailed functions.

Step4: The next step is to learn the Customers tab. This tab doesn’t contain a lot of different menus, but it is highly important to your shop upkeep.

  • Customers- This menu allows you to view all of your customers and their details.
  • Orders- This menu allows you to view all of your orders and the customer & product details associated.

Step 5: This step brings us to the Location & Taxes tab. Once here, you should be thinking about who you are wanting to sell your products to and if there are any taxes/duties involved.

  • Countries- This menu gives you control over from which countries you will accept customers.
  • Zones- Allows you to specify special areas within countries such as states or provinces.
  • Tax Zones- Gives you the ability to specify for which of the zones you created, you want to be able to charge taxes.
  • Tax Classes- This menu lets you specify what type of taxes are being charged to your customers. If you are in a place where different taxes are changed for say goods and services, this is where you can differentiate between the two.
  • Tax Rates- This menu allows you to specify the actual tax amount to be charged for your various zones.

Step 6 : This step is very important if you wish to make your shop available to those who do not speak English or if you wish to take different currencies. Open up the Localization tab and take a look at the various options which osc allows you to use for foreign sales/languages.

  • Currencies- Allows you to specify the exchange rates for various currencies you accept at your shop.
  • Languages- Allows you to specify which languages you wish to display in your shop.
  • Order Status- Allows you to specify which stages you want your orders to be in. ie. Pending, shipping.

This concludes chapter 2! You are almost done getting your admin section totally set up. Be sure to check out chapter 3 for some final steps to finish off your administration section.
